The exterior design that has always distinguished the award-winning i30 has now been updated with a wide range of sleek new design elements. The front emphasises the i30’s more modern stance. Safety Technology

With its comprehensive array of standard safety features, the i30 offers all its occupants reassuring peace of mind.

Front-mounted camera systems scan the road ahead for preceding vehicles.
AEB automatically initiates emergency braking to minimize the chances
of a serious crash, or reduce its consequences.

FCWS uses the front camera to detect the potential for any frontal collision
and alert the driver of the danger. AEB initiates emergency braking to avoid
or minimise the effects of any such collision.

The system contributes to active safety by avoiding unintentional
lane departures caused by driver distractions. LKAS warns the driver
acoustically and visually before inducing a corrective steering force.

Sensors mounted in the rear bumper on Ultimate models detect the
proximity of any vehicle obscured in the blind spot and trigger
a warning light in the relevant door mirror. An acoustic signal
immediately sounds if a turn signal is activated when a vehicle is
detected in the blind spot.

Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB)

1.0 T-GDi
petrol engine

The 1.0 T-GDI 48-volt hybrid is a downsized turbocharged petrol engine with 120 PS and 172 Nm at 1,500 ~ 4,000 rpm. It is mated to a 6-speed manual or 7-speed DCT transmission.

1.5 T-GDi
petrol engine

For a dynamic and responsive drive, the newly developed 1.5 T-GDI 48-volt hybrid, delivers a powerful 159 PS and 253 Nm torque at 1,500 rpm. It is available with either a 6-speed manual or 7-speed Dual Clutch.

1.6 CRDi
diesel engine

This turbocharged diesel 48-volt hybrid engine produces 136 PS and is available with a 6-speed manual transmission or 7-speed DCT automatic. The manual transmission delivers 280Nm of torque while the DCT delivers 320Nm.

48 Volt Hybrid System

The 48 volt hybrid system is available on both petrol and diesel engine and also with both transmission options. It’s able to run on electric when decelerating or whilst stopped - conserving fuel at regular intervals on your daily drive. It’s an enhancement over traditional start & stop technology as it is able to switch to electric before the car comes to a complete stop.

8 speed Automatic Transmission

Depending on your preference and choice of engines, the New Tucson is also available with a newly developed 8 speed automatic transmission. Delivering smooth automatic gear changes, it provides enhanced responsiveness and improved fuel efficiency. Only available with the 2.0 CRDi diesel engine.
