What’s a hybrid?
The new TUCSON Hybrid is equipped with both a petrol engine and an electric motor: a so-called full-parallel hybrid drive system. They work together with the support of a 1.49 kWh lithium-ion polymer battery to deliver maximum efficiency and inspiring performance. The hybrid powertrain switches seamlessly between the petrol engine and the electric motor – sometimes utilizing both at the same time.

World’s-first Parametric Hidden Lights.
The parametric grille’s dark chrome geometric design pattern is instantly transformed when you start driving. Thanks to state-of-the-art half-mirror lighting technology, the Parametric Hidden Lights are hidden when turned off, and when switched on: the outer sections of the grille transform into brilliant wing-like shapes, creating a unique high-tech lighting signature. When stopped, they blend in with the grille again.

Set the lights any way you want. Ambient mood lighting offers 64 configurable colours and 10 levels of brightness to fit every mood. Light sources are at the bottom of the centre fascia, in the wireless charging pad and door storage pocket.

Choose from three interior trims, including Obsidian Black, Moss Grey, and the Teal colour pack. Whatever colour you choose, twin silver garnish lines stream from the centre fascia to the rear door and harmonise with neatly layered tactile surface materials in complementary neutral tones.

Performance
Electrifying efficiency and driving fun.
The all-new Tucson Hybrid is powered by the new 1.6-litre T-GDI Smartstream petrol engine and a 44.2 kW electric motor powered by a 1.49 kWh lithium-ion battery. The system is the most powerful in the powertrain line-up, with a combined output of 230 PS and 350 Nm torque – which means you get to enjoy plenty of fun behind the wheel while feeling good about lower fuel consumption.
Electric motor
The powerful 44.2 kW electric motor delivers 265 Nm of instant torque, which adds a sporty electric edge to the Hybrid Tucson’s acceleration and performance.
Battery
The 1.49 kWh lithium-ion polymer battery stores electricity generated by the regenerative braking system, which is then used to power the electric motor.
Petrol engine
The 1.6 litre T-GDi engine features Hyundai’s unique Continuously Variable Valve Duration tech, which optimises engine performance and fuel efficiency.
Paddle shifters
Feel like taking control? You can shift gears using the paddle shifters when in Sport mode.
Energy flow.
Depending on the driving situation, the all-new Tucson Hybrid switches seamlessly between its petrol engine and electric motor. The regenerative braking system charges the battery by using the electric motor to slow the car. The energy stored in the battery then powers the electric motor to help in acceleration, uphill driving and low speed driving. This complex energy flow is illustrated in these animations.
Start/ Low Speed.
When starting or driving at low speed, the electricity stored in the battery powers the electric motor to move the Tucson Hybrid.
Acceleration/Uphill.
During heavy acceleration or driving uphill, the electric motor and petrol engine work in parallel to maximise acceleration and minimise fuel consumption.
Constant Speed.

Smart power tailgate.
Enjoy easy loading. The tailgate opens automatically when the proximity of the smart key is detected for 3 seconds – which is especially practical when you have both hands full coming out of the shops. What’s more, you can set the lift height to different settings according to your preference.
Space-saving battery design.
The all-Tucson has one of largest 2nd-row cabin spaces in its class. The Hybrid’s battery is mounted under the 2nd-row seats keep the same great legroom as the conventional powertrain version.
Walk-in device.
This clever feature allows the driver to slide and recline the front passenger seat via a button on the seat for easy entry and more comfort.
Versatile rear seat folding.
For improved convenience and versatility, the rear seats can now be folded in a 40:20:40 ratio. What’s more, remote folding levers on the side walls of the boot let you fold the seats from a distance.

Let’s face it. Everybody’s different. Some like it hot and others want it cooler. That’s why we’ve equipped the all-new Tucson with Multi-Air Mode technology. It diffuses the air through indirect and direct air vent so the air blows more gently but the overall wind volume remains the same. And the three-zone climate control lets you set different temperature zones for the driver, front and back seat passengers.

Maximise your individual comfort. For the first time in a Hyundai vehicle, the all-new Tucson’s hidden type Multi-Air Mode technology consists of a combination of direct and indirect air vents for air conditioning and heating to create a more pleasant indoor environment with more gentle air flow.

With best-in-class advanced driver-assistance systems and an active safety package with a range of innovative features, the all-new Tucson Hybrid delivers even more peace of mind. Equipped with an enhanced seven-airbag system, it features a first row centre side airbag, a feature unique to this segment. It prevents front row passengers from colliding with one another, minimising the risk of serious injuries.
Forward Collusion-avoidance Assist with Junction Turning ( FCA JX).
The FCA system automatically brakes when it detects sudden braking by the car ahead or detects pedestrians or cyclists in your path. Now updated with a Junction Turning feature, specially calibrated to help prevent frontal collisions when turning left at intersections (in left hand drive countries).
Lane Following Assist (LFA).
The all-new Tucson Hybrid features Lane Following Assist (LFA). When activated, it keeps the car centred in its lane at speeds between 0 and 180 km/h on motorways and city streets.
High Beam Assist (HBA).
Detects oncoming vehicles and vehicles in the same lane and automatically switches to low-beam. When no more vehicles are detected, it reactivates the high beams, maximising your range of vision.
Highway Drive Assist (HDA).
For the first time, the all-new Tucson Hybrid has been equipped with Highway Driving Assist (HDA). The feature is a combination of Lane Following Assist and Navigation Based Smart Cruise Control, utilizing sensors and map data to ensure safe operation to ensure safe operation as well as to automatically adjust speed for incoming bends on the highway or for speed limit recognition. A special button on the steering wheel allows the driver to activate HDA with just one click.
Navigation Based Smart Cruise Control (SCC).
More safety and less stress. Maintains a set distance to the vehicle ahead, also controlling the speed for incoming curves as part of Highway Drive Assist (HDA).
Blind Spot View Monitor (BVM).
Now you can see the rearward left- and right-hand side views of the all-new Tucson on a screen in the digital cluster. The cameras are activated by the use of the turn indicator during lane changes.
E-call.
Automatically calls emergency services if you’re in an accident and the airbags deploy. Or push the SOS button for emergency assistance at any time, 365 days a year.
Remote Smart Park Assist (RSPA).
